Synthetic Human Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) from Innovative Research has been prepared to closely resemble natural CSF. This product is sterile, formulated using high purity water and analytical-grade reagents, and is 0.2 µm filtered. Synthetic CSF does not contain neurotransmitters and electrolyte levels closely match those of natural CSF with final ion concentrations of 150 mM Na, 3.0 mM K, 1.4 mM Ca, 0.8 mM Mg, 1.0 mM P, and 155 mM Cl. The final makeup of this product closely mirrors that of brain interstitial fluid, and the pH can be easily adjusted using HCl or NaOH to meet your exact research application.

This product is useful as a control and can replace human and animal samples for a variety of in vitro applications, including but not limited to measuring CSF absorption, use as a general infusate or perfusate, use as a sterile dilutent, use as a flushing fluid for molecule delivery, and in electrophysiology research to maintain osmolarity and/or buffer pH at physiolog
