T4 RNA Ligase 1 is supplied in a 1000 Units format for enzymatic ligation of RNA substrates in molecular biology workflows. The enzyme is commonly used for joining single stranded RNA molecules and attaching adapters during RNA analysis and library preparation method development. Applications include ATP-dependent ligation of single-stranded RNA or DNA, 5 phosphoryl donor to 3 hydroxyl acceptor ligation, RNA adapter ligation, nucleic acid library construction. This product includes 1 mL of 10X reaction buffer, 200 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 100 mM MgCl2, 20 mM DTT, and 0.2 mL of 10 mM ATP. One unit converts 1 nanomole of 5 phosphorylated 15-mer RNA into phosphatase resistant form in 30 minutes at 37 C.
