T7 RNA Polymerase is a DNA-dependent 5‘→3’ RNA polymerase that exhibits high specificity for the T7 promoter sequence(5‘-TAATACGACTCACTATAGGGAGA-3’). It catalyzes the incorporation of nucleoside triphosphates (NTPs) downstream of a T7 promoter on either single-stranded or double-stranded DNA templates, synthesizing RNA complementary to the template strand.T7 RNA Polymerase is capable of utilizing modified NTPs, such as those labeled with biotin, digoxigenin, or fluorescein, enabling the synthesis of various labeled RNA molecules. It also demonstrates high specificity for the T7 promoter.
