Description

Stoelting™ Tail Suspension test is akin to the forced swim test but avoids the problems of hypothermia and stress associated with forced swimming.

Animals are suspended by their tails and the amount of immobility is measured. Longer periods of immobility are associated with higher depressive scores and immobility can be reversed with antidepressant treatment.
