It is a single polypeptide chain with a molecular weight of approximately 95 kDa.Taq DNA Polymerase was originally isolated from the thermophilic eubacterium Thermus aquaticus BM a strain lacking Taq I restriction endonuclease. The enzyme was cloned in E.coli.
