Tedizolid phosphate (TR-701FA) is an inhibitor of MAO-A and MAO-B that demonstrates activity against Gram-positive bacteria. In vitro, Tedizolid phosphate (0.25 μg/mL) effectively inhibits all 28 clinical isolates of PRSP, showing four times greater potency than linezolid against PRSP. In vivo studies have shown that in mice infected with PSSP type III, a 100% survival rate is achieved with a minimum total daily dose of 10 mg/kg of tedizolid phosphate. Lungs of treated infected mice exhibited less severe inflammation and edema.
