Terbinafine hydrochloride (TDT 067 hydrochloride) is an orally active and potent antifungal agent. It is a potent non-competitive inhibitor of squalene epoxidase from Candida, with a Ki of 30 nM. It also demonstrates antibacterial activity against certain Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Terbinafine hydrochloride functions as a click chemistry reagent, containing an Alkyne group that can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing Azide groups.
