Terlipressin Acetate, H-Gly-Gly-Gly-Cys-Tyr-Phe-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Lys-Gly-NH2, 14636-12-5, C52H74N16O15S2, Mr 1227.39, 1g. Terlipressin is a synthetic analog of vasopressin which is used as a vasoactive drug in the management of hypotension. It acts as a prodrug, as it is converted to (Lys8)-vasopressin by removal of the N-terminal triglycine in vivo. This vasopressin analog has a longer duration of action and a better safety profile than the parent compound. Terlipressin has found application in the management of acute variceal hemorrhage (esophageal varices), hepatorenal syndrome, and norepinephrine-resistant septic shock.
