Alkali Scientific Tetrathionate Broth w/Brilliant Green 10mL 16 x 125 mm Tube, 10/Pk
SDP

Catalog No. 5000662557
Encompass_Preferred

Tetrathionate Broth with Brilliant Green is a selective enrichment medium used for isolating Salmonella species from complex samples such as food and environmental materials. The formulation suppresses competing bacteria through the action of brilliant green dye and bile salts, while promoting Salmonella growth through the presence of tetrathionate. Salmonella organisms can utilize tetrathionate as an energy source, giving them a competitive advantage over other microorganisms. This enrichment step increases the likelihood of detecting low levels of Salmonella before plating onto selective media. The 10mL tube format is suitable for routine laboratory workflows and sample preparation procedures.
