An enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative in vitro diagnostic measurement of TGF-Beta1 in serum and cell culture supernatant. This potent Cytokine modulates embryonic development, bone formation, mammary development, wound healing, hematopoiesis, cell cycle progression and the production of the extracellular matrix. With respect to the immune system, TGF-Beta1 inhibits T and B cell proliferation and acts as an anti-inflammatory molecule both in vitro and in vivo. The DRG TGF-Beta1 ELISA Kit is a solid phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) based on the sandwich principle. Prior to testing the standards and patient samples are diluted in assay buffer, acidified with HCl and then neutralized with Neutralization Buffer. Thereafter, the neutralized standards and samples are added to the antibody coated (polyclonal) microtiter wells.
