NFAT Inhibitor Trifluoroacetate, H-Met-Ala-Gly-Pro-His-Pro-Val-Ile-Val-Ile-Thr-Gly-Pro-His-Glu-Glu-OH, 249537-73-3, C75H118N20O22S, Mr 1683.95, 0.5mg. The flow of information from calcium-mobilizing receptors to nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT)-dependent genes is critically dependent on interaction between the phosphatase calcineurin and the transcription factor NFAT. The high-affinity calcineurin-binding peptide potently inhibited NFAT activation and NFAT-dependent expression of endogenous cytokine genes in T cells, without affecting the expression of other cytokines that require calcineurin but not NFAT. NFAT inhibitors may be useful in treating chronic ailments such as myocardial hypertrophy, allergy, arthritis, and autoimmune disease.
