Thiopropyl Resin, G-Biosciences

Description
The thiol-containing molecules are reversibly immobilized on the resin. When the sample to be purified is passed through the resin, thiol-containing biomolecules bind to the resin to form mixed disulfides and release 2-thiopyridone. The bound molecule is eluted by addition of reducing agent such as DTT or 2-mercaptoethanol.
Specifications:
- Active group: 2-pyridyl disulfide
- Active group concentration: 18-31 μmole 2-pyridyl disulfide/ml drained gel
- Spacer: 3-Carbon-SH group
- Coupling capacity: around 10-20 mg protein/mL of drained gel
- Matrix: 6% cross-linked Agarose
- pH stability: 2-8 long term, 2-8 for CIP
- Chemical stability: Stable to all commonly used aqueous buffers and additives like detergents. Do not use azides.
- Physical stability: volume variations are negligible for changes in pH or ionic strength
- Supplied as lyophilized powder. To rehydrate, add twice the final resin volume of binding/storage buffer and allow to swell for 15 min.
