  • Tobramycin has been used:
  • it is used to study the effect of tobramycin on bacteriophage infected biofilms
  • it is used to study the effects of antibiotics on Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain
  • it is used as a comparator antibiotic. Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside, broad-spectrum antibiotic produced by Streptomyces tenebrarius.
  • It is effective against gram-negative bacteria, especially the Pseudomonas species.
