Conveniently and consistently add transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-ꞵ1) to your cultures with this cell culture-ready formulation. TGF-β1 binds to serine-threonine kinase type I and II receptors and regulates diverse cellular phenotypes through the SMAD2/3 signal transduction pathway. Use TGF-β1 in combination with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) to support the maintenance of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) cultures (Amit et al. Biol Reprod, 2004). TGF-β1 has been used to regulate exogenous cell signaling (Massagué Nat Rev Mol Cell Biol, 2000) and modulate immune cells (Letterio & Roberts Annu Rev Immunol, 1998). Human recombinant TGF-ꞵ1 from STEMCELL is precisely reconstituted to 0.1 mg/ml in 100 mM acetic acid; EC50 is ≤ 1 ng/mL; endotoxin levels verified using the LAL method to ensure consistency for use across multiple applications.
