Triple Sugar Iron (TSI) Agar Slant is a differential culture medium used to detect carbohydrate fermentation and hydrogen sulfide production in enteric bacteria. The formulation supports differentiation of gram negative rods, particularly organisms belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family, based on their metabolic activity involving glucose, lactose, and sucrose fermentation. Each 9mL slant is dispensed in a 16x125mm slip cap glass tube to allow convenient access and aseptic sampling during microbiological procedures. This ready to use format is widely used in clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical microbiology, and academic laboratories for the identification, screening, and biochemical characterization of enteric pathogens and other gram negative microorganisms.
