Triton X-100 reduced, a nonionic surfactant which has a hydrophilic polyethylene oxide chain, is a common laboratory detergent used for applications such as cell lysis and membrane permeabilization as a component of lysis buffers. Triton X-100 is used for the isolation of lipid rafts.
