Tryptic Soy Agar with 5% Sheep’s Blood and Esculin, 20mL Plate, 10/Pk is an enriched differential culture medium designed for the cultivation and preliminary identification of fastidious microorganisms. The addition of 5% sheep’s blood supports the growth of demanding bacterial species while allowing observation of hemolytic activity around colonies. Esculin in the formulation enables differentiation of organisms capable of hydrolyzing esculin, producing a dark reaction in the surrounding medium. This combination is particularly useful in detecting and differentiating Enterococci and Group D Streptococci. Each plate contains 20mL of sterile agar prepared for immediate use in microbiology laboratories. The medium supports diagnostic, environmental, and quality control testing workflows requiring reliable differentiation and organism recovery.
