Description

General purpose media used in qualitative procedures for detection, isolation, and cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms

  • BD Prepared Bottled Media are intended for the detection of microorganisms from pharmaceutical, food, environmental, or water testing samples.
  • They are ready for immediate use. Prepared using the highest quality BBL™ and Difco™ brand dehydrated culture media. Cost-effective, helping reduce overheads, labor costs, scrap materials, Quality Control (QC), and administrative expenses.
  • Manufacturing process is fully validated. Products comply with the IVD Directive 98/79/EC and Pharmacopeia EP/USP as applicable.
  • Color-coded caps and labeling for most products allow easy product identification.
  • Transparent labels provide a clear view of media and cultures. Growth performance test conforms to EP and USP requirements.
  • Extensive Certificates of Analysis showing microbial recovery of all organisms listed in EP and USP are available.
  • It is a general purpose medium. BD Tryptic Soy Broth ETO has sterile outer surfaces of containers and packaging due to ethylene oxide (ETO) treatment.
    • All BD Bottled Media are terminally sterilized by autoclave.
    • BD ETO (Ethylene Oxide) gassed bottles are sterile outside and remove the need for spraying down bottles before putting them into cleanrooms or isolators.
    • For BD Tryptic Soy Broth ETO, after autoclaving, the package unit is sealed in a Stericlin™ bag and sterilized by ethylene oxide (ETO) treatment, providing a sterile outer surface.
