Zinc dye . TSQ is an efficient membrane-permeable fluorescent probe for zinc (II). It is selective for Zn (II) in the presence of physiological concentrations of Ca (II) and Mg (II) ions. Fluorescence of TSQ is enhanced upon binding Zn (II), but the probe does not demonstrate a shift or change in emission wavelength. TSQ forms a largely insoluble 2:1 (Ligand-Metal) complex with zinc and emits blue light upon excitation at 365 nanometers. Alternative Name: N-(6-Methoxy-8-quinolyl)-p-toluenesulfonamide.
