The Mass Spectrometer Vent Kit eliminates the introduction of oxygen, water vapor, and other airborne contaminants which can degrade sensitivity and performance of the mass spectrometer. The Clarus GCs should be vented with UHP nitrogen (99.9995%). Helium should not be used as Helium molecules penetrate the glass sleeve on the photomultiplier tube, compromising the vacuum and lowering sensitivity.
