Inhibit glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3β) (Ding et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, 2003) with TWS119. This WNT pathway activator maintains the bi-potent, quiescent state in hepatic stellate cells of Wistar rats (Kordes et al. Biochem Biophys Res Commun, 2008) and induces apoptosis in human alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma cells (Zeng et al. Biochem Biophys Res Commun, 2010). It is also used to induce the differentiation of mouse embryonal carcinoma and embryonic stem cells to neurons (Ding et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, 2003) and the production of T memory stem cell-like (T-SCM) cells from mouse or human CD8+ T cells with evidence of increased persistence, proliferation, and anti-tumor activity after adoptive transfer of mouse-derived T-SCM (Forget et al. PLoS One, 2012; Gattinoni et al. Nat Med, 2009). TWS119 is supplied as a crystalline solid with ≥ 90% purity; Molecular weight 318.3 g/mol; CAS number 601514-19-6.
