U-73343 is an inactive analog of U-73122 that functions as a protonophore and can be used as a negative control. It inhibits acid secretion in a dose-dependent manner, irrespective of the stimulant. U-73122 is known as a phospholipase C (PLC) and 5-LO (5-lipoxygenase) inhibitor.

  • Potently inhibits acid secretion.
  • Does not inhibit K+-pNPPase or H+,K+-ATPase activity.
  • Inhibits histamine-, carbachol-, and dbcAMP-stimulated aminopyrine accumulation in gastric glands.
