UREA Agar Slant is a differential culture medium used for the detection of urease producing microorganisms such as Proteus, Helicobacter, and certain Enterobacteriaceae species. The medium contains urea and a pH indicator that produces a distinct color change when urease enzymes hydrolyze urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide. This biochemical reaction allows laboratories to differentiate microorganisms based on urease activity during microbial identification procedures. Each tube contains 4mL of prepared agar dispensed in a 13x100mm glass tube format suitable for incubation and storage. UREA Agar Slants are widely used in clinical microbiology laboratories and research facilities for routine biochemical testing.
