The Instech VABR1B/22 is a single-channel Vascular Access Button™ for rats, designed to provide a secure, closed-system interface for continuous or intermittent access. This implantable transcutaneous button features a 22-gauge (22ga) stainless steel connector that attaches subcutaneously to 3Fr polyurethane catheters. It includes a surgical-grade polyester felt disk with a diameter of 1 in (2.54 cm) to promote stable tissue ingrowth and long-term patency. The low-profile design weighs only 2g and has a minimal port dead volume of 4 microliters, making it ideal for blood sampling and infusion protocols while allowing animals to be group-housed when the port is capped.
