Description

Buffered sodium citrate solution for blood collection and mixing; high altitude versions available for use at higher elevations.

  • Greiner Bio-One developed the VACUETTE Coagulation Tube, known as a 'sandwich' tube due to its patented double-wall technology, in 1996.
  • The inner tube is made of polypropylene (PP) and prevents the evaporation of the sodium citrate additive to maintain the correct blood-to-additive ratio.
  • The outer tube is made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which maintains the vacuum for maximum shelf life.
  • VACUETTE Blood Collection Tubes are evacuated for easy, safe sample collection.
  • The amount of vacuum in each tube corresponds to the tubes blood volume specification and helps ensure the correct blood-to-additive ratio.
  • Injection molded from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, VACUETTE Blood Collection Tubes are highly transparent and virtually unbreakable.
  • VACUETTE Serum tubes include a clot-activating additive micronized silica particles that is spray-dried on the interior tube wall for even disbursement and optimal blood/additive mixing.
  • Optimal fill marks on every tube label indicate the proper draw volume for correct blood-to-additive ratios (within ±10 of the stated nominal volume in accordance with ISO and CLSI).
  • Coagulation tube labels feature an arrow-shaped marker indicating the fill range where sample volume will yield the necessary 9:1 blood-to-additive ratio.
  • Featuring blue VACUETTE SAFETY Caps, designed to minimize the spraying of aerosols during decapping and color-coded to aid first-glance tube recognition.
  • The VACUETTE SAFETY Cap used on coagulation tubes is designed with a two-step stopper to seal both the inner and outer tubes for a longer shelf life.
  • Sterile and latex-free.
