Vol: 3mLQty: CS of 50GenePath Dx Viral Transport Medium is based on the well-known CDC formula and allows the survival and recovery of the target, while a balanced cocktail of antimicrobials prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi. It can be used for the collection and transport of clinical swab (e.g. nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal and nasal) samples. It ensures stability for samples stored between 2 C to 8 C for at least 48 hours and for a significantly longer time when stored at -80 C. Samples collected in this medium are suitable for downstream applications like RT-PCR and sequencing after extraction of nucleic acids from samples collected in GenePath Dx - VTM, using standard silica spin column, magnetic bead-based extraction and allied technologies.
