Wortmannin is a naturally occurring steroid metabolite that potently inhibits phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases (PI3Ks, IC50=1-10 nM). Also inhibits ProLabelK1 (IC50=24 nM), ProLabelK3 (IC50=49 nM), MTOR, DNAPK, PI4Ks, MLCK, and MAPK at higher concentrations. Helps enhance apoptotic effects by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt cascade and blocking the anti-apoptotic effects of cytokines. Provided as 1 mg of dry powder.
