MOC-31 antibody recognizes an epithelial-associated, glycoprotein located on the cell membrane surface and in the cytoplasm of virtually all epithelial cells. It is not present in most squamous epithelia, hepatocytes, renal proximal tubular cells, gastric parietal cells and myoepithelial cells. MOC31 may be used in a panel of antibodies as a negative marker for mesothelioma, or lung adenocarcinoma. Studies have shown that MOC-31 is useful in differentiating tumors of unknown origin in liver cancers and distinguishing cholangiocarcinoma from hepatocellular carcinomas

The Mouse/Rabbit UnoVue™ HRP/DAB Detection System is a non-biotin, one-step detection system suitable for demonstrating antigens in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues and cryostat sections. The UnoVue Detection System may also be used with blood smears, cytosmears, and cell preparations. The UnoVue detector kits have been developed by directly labeling anti-mouse and anti-rabbit immunoglobulins with enzymes using a proprietary tandem hyper-labelling technology. This ensures consistent and reproducible immunodetection of mouse and rabbit antibodies with a single reagent. Nuclear, cytoplasmic and membrane antigens in different types of tissues can be detected readily. The single step UnoVue Detection System enables faster staining procedures than traditional two-step methods using biotin and avidin/streptavidin conjugates, avidin/streptavidin conjugates, with significantly lower background.

CD4 is glycoprotein found on the surface of immune cells such as T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is co-receptor that assists the T-cell receptor (TCR) with antigen-presenting cell and also interacts directly with MHC class II molecules of the surface of antigenpresenting cells. Most mature T-cell lymphomas are CD4 positive with the exception of aggressive NK-cell leukemia and extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma. CD4 plays important role in the classification of lymphocytes in inflammatory legions and malignant lymphomas.

OCT-3/4 (also known as POU5F1) is a transcription factor that has been recognized as fundamental in the maintenance of pluripotency in embryonic stem cells and primordial germ cells. It has been proposed as a useful marker for germ cell tumors (GCT) that exhibit features of pluripotentiality (seminoma/dysgerminoma, germinoma and embryonal carcinoma. OCT-3/4 immunostaining has been shown to be sensitive and specific for GCT, whether in primary gonadal or extragonadal sites or in metastatic lesions.

Cadherin 17 is exclusively expressed in the epithelial cells of embryonic and adult small intestine, colon, liver, and pancreatic ducts. It has been reported to be frequently expressed in adenocarcinomas arising in the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. Owing to its restricted expression in these groups of tumors, cadherin 17 has proven to be a useful immunohistochemical marker for assisting in distinguishing these neoplasms from other malignancies with which they may be confused

The mammaglobin gene was first identified using a differential screening approach directed at the isolation of novel, human breast cancer-associated genes. Mammaglobin-A is highly overexpressed in breast cancer cell lines and primary breast tumors. This pattern of expression is restricted to mammary epithelium and metastatic breast tumors. Thus, mammaglobin-Aspecific T cell immune responses may provide an important approach for the design of breast cancer-specific immunotherapy.

Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2 (SATB2) is a recently described marker that functions as a nuclear matrix-associated transcription factor. It has been reported that SATB2, in combination with CK20, could identify almost all colorectal carcinomas, including poorly differentiated colorectal carcinomas. Upper gastrointestinal (GI) carcinomas and pancreatic ductal carcinomas are usually negative for SATB2, and ovarian carcinomas, lung adenocarcinomas, and adenocarcinomas from other origin are rarely positive for SATB2. Therefore, SATB2 is a good marker for identifying a carcinoma of colorectal origin when working on a tumor of unknown primary. It can help differentiate colorectal metastasis (SATB2+) from primary pulmonary adenocarcinoma of mucinous or enteric type (SATB2- but often CDX2+)\n

The programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1) protein is a cell-surface receptor on certain lymphocytes that, with its ligand programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), helps to down-regulate immune responses. Many cancer types express PD-L1 and evade immune recognition via the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction. Precision therapies targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway have the potential to improve response and thereby offer a novel treatment avenue to some patients with cancer.
