Glass Wool
Glass Wool
Non-flammable glass wool, suitable for both general laboratory and industrial applications, as well as filtering, is a thermal insulation created from flexible, intertwined borosilicate glass fibers. The intertwined glass fabrics then trap air in small pockets that have high thermal insulation properties, with the density of air varied by compressing the glass wool. Glass wool is noted for being strong and pliable and is typically made from refined glass and may contain a binder and oil, which is used to help control dust. Glass wool, an amorphous silicate, generally contains minimal heavy metals and has a law alkali content.
