Insulated Containers
Insulated containers maintain a constant temperature to help protect temperature-sensitive materials during benchtop use, short- or long-term storage, or transport. Available in a variety of types, such as polyurethane boxes, chests, coolers, and mini-coolers, insulated containers can be used for enzymes, cells, reagents, and other solutions.
Specific applications include: protection from moderate and extreme ambient temperature exposure; short-term frozen or hot storage; and controlled rate freezing (approximately -1°C/minute) for cell preservation.
Insulated containers include:
- Benchtop coolers
- Dewar bottles or flasks
- Freezing containers
- Ice buckets and pans
Insulated containers are usually used for cold items, although they can also be used with cold or hot items.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Spherical Dewar Flask, 2 L, 32 mm I.D.
Lab grade dewars made from borosilicate glass and vacuumed to 10-7 torr, without pads between walls, eliminating heat transfer for maximum efficiency. They come with low evaporation stopper and weighted base. Metal Casting does not extend the full length of the spherical dewar flask. Florence flask design offers the most efficient way of holding liquid nitrogen.

Electron Microscopy Sciences CoolCube™ CoolCube Microtube and PCR Plate Cooler
The CoolCube is made to safely store samples on the lab bench, without degradation from temperature fluctuation. Made of a high strength polymer and a gel refrigerant, it will maintain a temperature of approximately 0 degree C for up to 4 hours.
Store the CoolCube overnight in the freezer and it will be ready to use. It will keep samples cool, but not frozen, without messy ice buckets or wet tubes.
With two sides, it can also be used as a PCR workstation. One side has wells for 10 standard 1.5/2.0 ml microtubes and one 96-well PCR plate or 0.2 ml tubes/strips. The other side can be used to hold 36 standard 1.5/2.0 ml microtubes.

These silvered and evacuated Dewars feature rugged casings made of galvanized steel plate with a baked enamel finish. An insulated synthetic lid seals the vessel and locks for transport with two spring clips. Clips and a detachable bail-type handle included.
