Research Products International Corp Replica-Plating Tool
Replica-Plating tool provides a convenient method for accurately replicating microbial colonies. This methodology was introduced by Lederberg in 1952 (J. Bacteriol. 63, 399). The Replica-Plating tool consists of a PVC cylinder and a locking ring. Replication of colonies is easily performed. Simply make an imprint of the surface containing the colonies onto the fabric substrate then repeat the procedure using a fresh nutrient surface to transfer the colonies. The tool can be chemically disinfected between transfers with a brief rinse in 70% ethanol or a 0.025% bleach solution.
Sterile fabric substrate is available separately.

Gas-permeable polyurethane membrane for petri dishes are in pre-cut strips. Cell growth is unimpeded since the strips allow for beneficial exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide for cellular growth drying. The strips acts as a microbial barrier that prevents microbial and vial contamination during growth and storage of cells.
Strip design allows film to be protected during application; a tab remains attached for easy removal.
Dishes sealed with Breathe-Easy strips may be incubated and/or stored and ambient temperatures, refrigerated or frozen (-80 degree C to 100 degree C).
