The Mass Spectrometer Vent Kit eliminates the introduction of oxygen, water vapor, and other airborne contaminants which can degrade sensitivity and performance of the mass spectrometer. The Clarus GCs should be vented with UHP nitrogen (99.9995%). Helium should not be used as Helium molecules penetrate the glass sleeve on the photomultiplier tube, compromising the vacuum and lowering sensitivity.

Grainger Calibration Gas 116L Methane Nitrogen
The Gasco Calibration Gas Methane is a high purity methane gas mixture used for calibration and bump testing of gas detection instruments. It contains 1000 ppm methane, with nitrogen as the balance gas, and is available in a 104 liter cylinder with CGA-580 outlet connection. This calibration gas has an accuracy of ±2% and is recommended for calibration of combustible gas detectors. The cylinder operating pressure is 1800 psi at 70°F.
