Mitra of Columbia University in JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY 43, 2923 [1978], and covered in U.S. Patent Number 4,293,422 dated October 6, 1981) when used with CG-1191 flow control adapter. Lower end of the column has a round bottom.

Connections between the column, reservoir and flow control adapter are spherical joints connected with CG-150 stainless steel pinchclamps.
