The CytoPrep is a combination device that safely heat-fixes cytologies and quickly dries slides for rapid microscopy results. Heat-fixing cells onto slides, especially when preparing ear cytologies or drying a urine slide before staining, is the best way to ensure that cells adhere flat onto the glass and fully accept stains with minimum wash-off. The traditional method of heat-fixing slides with a bunsen burner or lighter is considered too dangerous by many clinics, because of safety concerns of an open-flame, and is also inconsistent because of poor temperature control. Open flames also create black soot on the slide which must be wiped off prior to staining. The CytoPrep eliminates these concerns with a controlled warm surface that can accommodate up to 10 slides for rapid heat-fixing in as little as 1 minute. After slides are heat-fixed then stained and rinsed with water, the slides need to dry before viewing under the microscope.

Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC) is a protein with many cellular functions. It is a tumor suppressor and negative regulator of Wnt signaling. APC has roles in cell adhesion and cell migration. Mutations in APC are assuciated with several diseases. The adenomatous polyposis syndromes, familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and Gardner's syndrome (GS), are characterized by numerous adenomatous polyps throughout the entire colon. These polyps invariably progress to colon cancer in addition to other extracolonic manifestations. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.
