Microcentrifuges
Compact footprint centrifuges used for small sample sizes, such as microtubes. Ideal for microfilter cell separations and HPLC samples. Available as electronic or handheld manual units; may have digital interfaces and refrigeration capabilities.
Microcentrifuges are specifically designed to accommodate tubes that hold less than 5.0 mL. Although benchtop centrifuges can be fitted with rotors for microtubes, microcentrifuges usually have a smaller footprint, which makes for a less-crowded work area.
As with other benchtop centrifuges, these units can be ventilated (operated without temperature controls) or refrigerated. Most are sold with a rotor, although additional alternate rotors may be available.

The Grainger Speed Control is a 115V AC dial speed controller with a maximum load rating of 3 amps. It allows users to adjust the speed of single phase AC motors and other electrical loads by varying the voltage with a dial knob. The enclosure is made of plastic with screw terminal connections. Key features include overload and short circuit protection. It can be mounted on walls or panels. This provides variable speed control for applications like fans, pumps, conveyors, and other AC motor-driven equipment.

The first "mini" sized centrifuge with a swing out rotor for microplates. Centrifuging plates before PCR ensures all reactants are in the bottom of the wells for proper concentrations and improved yields.
In spite of its remarkably small footprint (9x10 in.), the PlateFuge includes a uniquely designed, swing out rotor (patent pending) capable of securing 2 microplates. The easily accessible rotor chamber includes two plate carriers that rest at a 75° angle. This allows plates to be inserted confidently without sealing tapes or caps. Upon closing the lid of the centrifuge, the rotor accelerates and the centrifugal force "swings" the plates into a horizontal position. Any droplets on the walls of the plate quickly concentrate into the well bottoms.
