Diatome cryo diamond knives are used for all low temperature situations such as sectioning of cryo-protected specimens, frozen hydrated specimens, and industrial samples such as polymers and rubber. Compared to glass knives cryo diamond knives produce ultrathin and semithin sections with the same knife, produce thinner sections, easily produce long ribbons of sections, and have less compression and greater uniformity of sections.
