Developed in a series of media by a group from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Insect Pathology Laboratory, IPL-41 is a modification of Goodwin's original IPL formulation. It was originally designed to support the growth and maintenance of cell lines descendant from lepidopteran species and the propagation of viruses within these cells. It has been used for large scale production of baculovirus. IPL-41 Insect Medium (Liquid), item #785097, contains L-glutamine and calcium chloride. Does not include typtose phosphate broth or sodium bicarbonate.
