Electron Microscopy Sciences XTEM Preparation Kit
The kit is specifically for the preparation of cross-sectional TEM (XTEM) specimens. For the study of interfaces (such as semiconductor devices, thin film layers, etc.) by transmission electron microscope (TEM) it is critical that samples are prepared to the highest quality. The EMS-XTEMprep Preparation Kit offers all the tools and materials that help to prepare high-quality cross-sectional TEM specimens. The kit includes microsaw-sectioning tool, micropol-grinder and polisher, microheat-embedding tool, specially designed embedding rings ("Ti disc")-5 of each size, special purpose mechanical tools (HSS) for embedding, ion beam resistant glue, LEIT-C conductive carbon cement, thermoplastic transparent glue, and diamond paste. The Ready-to-Assay Secretin Glucagon Receptor Frozen Cells are a simple, thaw-and-assay cell format for use in studying drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) targeting GPCRs. This assay assesses ligand (e.g. secretin) based activation of SCTR GPCR activity via detection of increasing levels of intracellular calcium. The included cell line overexpresses SCTR alongside endogenous high levels of a promiscuous G-protein, coupling the receptor to the calcium signaling pathway. Upon activation of SCTR, the resulting calcium activity can be fluorescently assayed. Ready-to-assay kits consist of two vials of the stably modified clonal cell line in a convenient thaw-and-use format.
