ABclonal Technology CD209 Rabbit pAb
This gene encodes a C-type lectin involved in cell adhesion and pathogen recognition. It recognizes a wide range of pathogens, including mycobacteria causing leprosy and tuberculosis, viruses like Ebola, hepatitis C, HIV-1, Dengue, and SARS-CoV. The protein has four domains: a carbohydrate recognition domain, a flexible neck domain, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic domain for internalization. It is closely related to CLEC4M (L-SIGN), differing in viral recognition and expression. This gene is highly expressed on dendritic cells. Polymorphisms in the neck region are linked to HIV-1 protection, and SNPs in the promoter affect susceptibility and severity of infectious diseases, such as the rs4804803 SNP associated with SARS severity.
