Matched antibody pairs are sets of antibodies that are known to be capable of detecting different epitopes on the same protein antigen; they can be used together for the capture and detection of a single antigen in an immunoassay.

Decapping is a key step in general and regulated mRNA decay. The protein encoded by this gene is a decapping enzyme. This protein and another decapping enzyme form a decapping complex, which interacts with the nonsense-mediated decay factor hUpf1 and may be recruited to mRNAs containing premature termination codons. This protein also participates in the TGF-beta signaling pathway. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) exists as a hexamer composed of A (encoded by NME1) and B (encoded by this gene) isoforms. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Read-through transcription from the neighboring upstream gene (NME1) generates naturally-occurring transcripts (NME1-NME2) that encode a fusion protein comprised of sequence sharing identity with each individual gene product.
