LB Agar, Miller, also referred to as Luria-Bertani Agar, is a widely used medium in molecular biology applications for maintaining and propagating E. coli. LB Agar, Miller contains twice the amount of sodium chloride as that of the Lennox formulation which allows for the researcher to be selective of the salt content when working with a specific strain. MOLTOX offers a wide variety of LB Agar, Miller plates with the addition of several different types and concentrations of antibiotics to provide a more selective medium for recombinant cells with a specific antibiotic resistance. Used as an industry standard for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli and for the preparation of plasmid DNA, MOLTOX offers a large selection of LB Agars and Broths with plenty of added antibiotics to choose from for a more selective media. Yeast Casitone Fatty Acids Agar with Carbohydrates (YCFAC) is an enriched nonselective media for the cultivation of most anaerobic bacteria and other fastidious microorganisms. YCFAC, when handled and incubated appropriately, has been shown to recover a wide range of difficult to culture organisms from gut microbiota samples. This media is prepared, dispensed, and packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.YCFAC is an enriched nonselective media used in the isolation and cultivation of a wide variety of bacteria found in the human gut, including Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. The basic nutritive components of this media come from yeast extract and pancreatic digest of casein. This basal medium is then enriched with various specific vitamins, sugars, and short chain fatty acids to ensure growth of the most fastidious gut microbes.
