Chondrex Inc Sirius Red/Fast Green Collagen Staining Kit, 1 Kit

Semi-quantitative total collagen detection kit. Sirius Red dye (absorpotion 540 nm) binds specifically to the [Gly-X-Y]n helical structure of fibrillar collagen (regardless of species or type). Fast Green dye (absorption 605 nm) binds to non-collagenous proteins. OD values of extracted dyes at 540 nm and 605 nm can be used to calculate the relative collagen and non-collagenous protein content of samples. Standard Range: 3 g per section (collagen proteins), 50 g per section (non-collagenous proteins). Working Time: 0.5 hours. Sample Types: Tissue Slides, Cultured Cells. Tissue sections of 10-20 micrometers are recommended.
