Pivalate-d3 (sodium) is the deuterium labeled acetic acid. It is a carboxylic acid and short-chain fatty acid (SCFAs). This compound activates AMPK, increases ROS, cleaved caspase 9, PPARα, and downregulates SREBP-1c and ChREBP expression. It exhibits antifungal activity against *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* W303-1A, regulates energy metabolism, and has anticancer activity against gastric cancer. It can be used in research for gastric cancer, ulcerative colitis, hepatic steatosis, and pain.
