 The University of Minnesota Prime Vendor Contract

As the Prime Vendor for the University of Minnesota, Fisher Scientific provides: 

• Two Account Representatives, Sue O’Brien and Brenda Seidel, who are on campus every day to assist all labs with their research needs. They service the Twin Cities, Duluth and Hormel Institute sites. 
• Contract discounts to all University of Minnesota customers. 
• Next-day delivery to both UStores and K-E dock in order to help UStores handle the large volume of products they received daily. 
• Free Shipping and Hazardous Materials charges to all customers. 
• Our on-site Customer Service Specialists, Darryl Hanson and Erin Everhart (612-626-9250), provide dedicated services such as order placement, cross-referencing, back-order management, credits and returns, etc. 
• Life Science Specialist, Brad Tuomi, Safety Specialist, Steve Barrett, and Chemical Specialist Ken Lyco provide added service and knowledge for specific needs in their specialized area. 
• 7 active CORE centers located on both Saint Paul and Minneapolis campuses which bring convenience and savings to customer’s daily research projects. 
• Special orders may be placed through Ustores by obtaining a quote from your local Sales Representative. To place the order, just print out the quote and write your Ustores customer and cufs number on the quote. Fax the quote to Darryl Hanson @ 612-626-9273. Special orders include ANY item through Fisher Scientific that is priced differently than what is listed on the Ustores Web site or that is not in the Ustores catalog.

Questions on the Return Policy?

Fisher Scientific offers a No Hassle Return Goods Policy with expectations of a reasonable time period of 30 days or less after delivery for returns. All re-stocking charges on standard Fisher Scientific catalog items as well as shipping charges on replacement items will be waived for the University if returns are accomplished within 30 days after delivery. 

University personnel can contact Fisher Scientific’s on-site Customer Service Representatives, Darryl Hanson and Erin Everhart, to request a returned goods authorization number. The following information is necessary to fulfill the request:

• Purchase Order number 
• Reason for return 
• Catalog number 
• Shipping address or account number 

Upon receiving this information, a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number is assigned to the return. This number must appear on the exterior packing slip of the returned item. All requests for RGAs will be filled within one week of the request unless items are over 30 days old. In this case, extra time maybe needed for research.

Once an RGA number is obtained, University Stores may send the product directly to Fisher Scientific for credit or ask for pick up. If the return is due to Fisher Scientific error, Fisher Scientific may send a pick up call tag directly to the University end-user to facilitate the return.

It is extremely important that Fisher Scientific is notified immediately of damaged items in order to expedite a damage claim. These items cannot be returned until a damage claim is done. Fisher Scientific will coordinate directly with the delivery carrier to inspect the item onsite at the University. If problem resolution is required, our Sales Representatives, Sue O’Brien or Brenda Seidel, will work directly with the end user and University Stores.

The following restrictions apply:

• Products may be returned to distributor within 30 days for replacement or credit. 
• Items over 30 days may be subject to Sales Representative approval. 
• Returns made without the authorization number will be returned to the University customer via collect freight. 
• Distributor reserves the right to reverse any credit issued to the University customer (i) for any product not returned after authorization and request by distributor; or (ii) if, upon return, such product is determined by distributor not to be defective. 

Products not acceptable for credit:

1. Products which have been discontinued 
2. Products which have been personalized or customized 
3. Non-Distributor line products supplied to the University as an accommodation if supplier will not accept return. 
4. Products not purchased from Fisher Scientific. 
5. Refrigerated or temperature controlled products. 
6. Products which are outdated, shelf-worn, used or defaced and, therefore, unsuitable for return to stock and resale as new 
7. Reagents, diagnostics, or chemicals which have been opened
