Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45791 was sufficient for detection of 4-Hydroxynonenal in 0.5 μg of 4-Hydroxynonenal conjugated to BSA by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary Antibody. Specific for 4-Hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) modified proteins. Does not detect free 4-Hydroxynonenal. Does not cross-react with 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal, Acrolein, Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, Malondialdehyde, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.

4-Hydroxynonenal, or 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal or 4-HNE or HNE, is an alpha, beta-unsaturated hydroxyalkenal that is produced by lipid peroxidation in cells. 4-HNE is the primary alpha, beta-unsaturated hydroxyalkenal formed in this process.
