BioVendor, LLC Acid Labile Subunit (ALS) Human ELISA (96 wells)

Supplier: BioVendor, LLC E35

Acid Labile Subunit (ALS) Human ELISA (96 wells). Enzyme immunoassay kit to measure Acid Labile Subunit (ALS) in human serum or plasma. Quality controls included. SAMPLE REQ: 10 l/well. CALIBRATION RANGE: 0 200 ng/mL. ASSAY RANGE: 0.53 30 000 ng/mL. DETECTION LIMIT: 0.53 ng/ml. SUMMARY: The acid-labile subunit is an important part of the IGF-storage mechanism in circulation. In ALS deficiency or in ALS knock-out mice the concentrations of IGF and IGFBP-3 in the circulation are significantly decreased thus resulting in impaired growth. In primary ALS deficiency hyperinsulinemia could be observed. Further, the ALS-IGF-IGFBP-system seems to be of relevance in coronary disease. ALS measurement can be used as supplementary info in growth hormone studies together with IGF-I and IGFBP-3 measurements. Thus, ALS quantification is useful in studying GH-deficiency and excess. NAMES: Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein complex ALS, IGFALS. Manufactured by Mediagnost GmbH, Germany.
