EFP Mouse anti-Human, Unlabeled, Clone: 2, BD
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: BD Biosciences 610570
Description
Steriod hormones, unlike polypeptide hormones, diffuse inside the cell, bind cytoplasmic or nuclear receptors, and activate specific genes. Complete identification of such receptors would greatly increase the understanding of the celluar processes activated by steriods. EFP (Estrogen receptor Finger Protein) was identified as a result of its specific interaction with the estrogen receptor. EFP contains a zinc-finger domain, indicating that it is a DNA-binding protein. EFP transcription is regulated by estrogens and, in combination with the estrogen receptor, it may modulate the expression of estrogen-responsive genes.
This antibody is routinely tested by western blot analysis. Other applications were tested at BD Biosciences Pharmingen during antibody development only or reported in the literature.
