CHIROBIOTIC™ T columns utilize teicoplanin as a chiral selector.

CHIROBIOTIC™ T columns offer unique selectivity for a number of classes of molecules, specifically underivatized alpha, beta, gamma and cyclic amino acids, N-derivatized amino acids, hydroxy-carboxylic acids, acidic compounds including carboxylic acids and phenols, small peptides, neutral aromatic analytes and cyclic aromatic and aliphatic amines. Separations normally obtained on a chiral crown ether or ligand exchange-type CSPs are also possible on the CHIROBIOTIC™ T and T2, but in much simpler mobile phases, like water-alcohol. In addition, all of the known beta-blockers (amino alcohols), and dihydrocoumarins have been resolved. CHIROBIOTIC™ T and T2 differ in their bonding chemistry and the pore size of the support particle, giving them different selectivity and preparative capacity.
