Invitrogen™ Bovine IFN-gamma Recombinant Protein
Description
Mature bovine IFNγ was expressed in Pichia pastoris, X-33. GenBank® Accession # AAB64477, amino acids 24 - 166. For protein verification, the expressed protein was N-terminal sequenced and begins with the following 10 amino acids: QGQFFREIEN. >95% by SDS-PAGE analysis. Activity: The biological activity of recombinant bovine IFNγ was determined in a viral challenge assay using VS virus on MDBK cells. Plates were stained with crystal violet, a visual CPE determination was performed and the dye was then solubilized and absorbance was read. Uses: For in vitro applications. A dose-response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration for specific experiments. Reconstitution: Reconstitute lyophilized material with 0.5 mL of distilled or deionized water. Dilute in a buffer containing carrier protein, aliquot, and store at = -70°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. PBS with 1% BSA or a neutral media containing = 10% FCS are suitable buffers.
