Cyclin-A2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCNA2 gene. It is one of the two types of cyclin A: cyclin A1 is expressed during meiosis and embryogenesis while cyclin A2 is expressed in dividing somatic cells. Essential for the control of the cell cycle at the G1/S (start) and the G2/M (mitosis) transitions.
